Support THE POINT this Holiday Season!

“I take part in THE POINT’s programs because I grew up in the area and saw my brothers and sister go and have fun there. I continue to go because THE POINT is like home. They treat you like family, never any problems there-- if anything, you go there to express yourself and get help for any problems you may have.” - Summer Camp PowerPOINT 2016 Participant

THE POINT would like to extend its warmest wishes and gratitude to our family of supporters this Holiday Season. Your help and financial contribution are, as always, crucial to the success of our youth and the future of our community. In now our twenty-second year, we feel it is more important than ever for THE POINT to maintain its commitment to the vital progress that has been made against poverty and inequality in the South Bronx. Although THE POINT is located in one of the two poorest Congressional Districts in the entire United States, we have continuously demonstrated the power of youth development, arts, education, culture and environmental justice to provide positive solutions to the issues we face on a daily basis. It is through the talents, aspirations and creativity of our residents, especially our youth, that so much has been possible.

At THE POINT, we serve over 500 youth a week via our arts and advocacy approach to youth development. Whether After-School Literacy for our youngest members, Social Circus  workshops with teens, or A.C.T.I.O.N. teen community organizers, THE POINT aims to creatively engage young to becoming movement builders. Our award-winning arts programming include Blank Plate Culinary Arts, Music Ensemble and Digital Production, and for the first-time ever a Portfolio Development Workshop series, amongst many others free activities. As when we first opened our doors, we work closely with our participants to create a safe space for youth to explore roles as urban stewards and farmers, concerned photographers, muralists, hackers, peer educators, actors, graphic designers, dancers and more!

This time of the year we always have the pleasure of reconnecting with our alumni who continue to succeed throughout the world as educators, activists and artists. We take great pride in celebrating these accomplishments with you, and wish to continue to count on you to be catalysts of positive change in Hunts Point alongside us. Join us as we continue to nurture the next generation of artists and activists looking to creatively revitalize their community.
