This year, Female Flava is dedicated to those in our community affected by domestic violence. We will be creating a platform to uplift our warriors: who fight for our families, our healers: who bring peace to our lives and our change makers: who are actively working to build a better community. Youth groups are encouraged to attend!
{A note on language: this event is open, appreciative, and loving of people of ALL genders. Conversations around the use of the term ‘female’ are happening, and it is not intended to be exclusionary in any way.}

Brown Girl Recovery:
Hood Girl Healing is an unpacking of how our tried and true ways of getting by, dealing, also known as healing, is inherently hood, inherently racialized and politicized as poor Black and Brown femmes. We seek: To unpack the ways healing for Black and Brown femmes has been stigmatized through a mainstream White Supremacist lens, to identify tangible ways of healing that participants may already engage in, and to explore the historical and ancestral lens in which we view healing traditions in our respective cultures.
