South Bronx con El Sur de Puerto Rico is an evening of poetry, live music, dance, theater and food for the soul in the heart of the South Bronx, benefiting the ongoing earthquake relief effort on behalf of the people on the Island of Puerto Rico (U.S. citizens).
This special cultural pop-up fundraiser is supporting El Maestro, Inc.’s “New York con Puerto Rico” project that has been collecting much-needed supplies for the relief assistance effort. All proceeds will go toward providing much-need on-the-ground assistance in Puerto Rico in partnership with El Maestro and their network of vetted grassroots organizations already mobilized on the Island, as well as ensuring all donated supplies are not “lost in transit” and reach the intended impacted communities.
Friday, January 24, 2020 – 6:30pm-9pm.
The POINT, CDC – 940 Garrison Avenue, Bronx, NY 10474
Suggested donation: $20. But give whatever you can. No one will be turned away.
Hosted by We Stay / Nos Quedamos, The POINT CDC, Mothers on the Move (MOM), O.U.R Place, El Maestro, Inc. (NYC), La Brigada Solidaria del Oeste (Puerto Rico), and Centro de Acopio (Puerto Rico).
