Cirque
Fall 2021
Cirque (French for circus) is a multi-faceted artform that is more familiar than most realize, and holds many surprising benefits. In our class, students will learn juggling in many different forms, Physical Comedy (known in the circus as “clowning”), as well as Performance Workshop. In December, the class will perform together in a circus show that we expect the parents and staff to watch virtually. The entire course will be catered to preparing the students for the performance. The students will have a performance workshop in each class, teaching them the elements of performance including stage presence, stage awareness, engaging with the audience, timing, and honing their focus to perform their skills at their best.
